Watch List quick update

I've been short and brief lately primarily because we've been relatively inactive in this market for the last 6 months - SIX MONTHS! Here is another brief update to some positions and I know that a more detailed justification is due.

• Watching to enter Smith & Wesson Brands (SWBI) currently $19.28 and Vista Outdoor (VSTO) $28.41. They have run up 172% and 295%, respectively, over the last 12 months. I know, I know, guns and ammos started getting a lot of interest in April 2020 and you may think that we've miss them already. I was at our local Academy Sports & Outdoors (ASO) yesterday and they are still running a waiting line before the store opens. 150 people were lined up by the time the doors were open and they started to line up at 4:30 in the morning. They were all there for one of the twice-weekly ammunition deliveries to that store. Yeah, I think that we're in a climate for more guns, ammo and returns on these two.

• Camping World (CWH) currently $32.76.  

Positions Update

 

Follow up to current positions and this aforementioned list

• Have held ORCL but I don't like a break below 61. Stop at 59.75
• AAPL position will be let go with a break below 120. Stop at 119.
• GoPro (GPRO), Sonos (SONO) and Sharpspring (SHSP) still holding
• New positions are VXX, ACB & PIPP
• Watching and looking to buy CWH & ASO

Added two more new positions this week: PIPP @ $12.50 & ACB @ $11.50

Pine Island Acquisition Corp (PIPP) is another SPAC, a "blank check company". The company has ties to at least two people selected by Joe Biden for his Cabinet and an SEC filing states, "We believe that with our access, network and expertise, we are well suited to take advantage of the current and future opportunities present in the aerospace, defense and government services industries." Cannabis stocks are surging because the Democrats are in control of the Presidency, the Senate and the House which bodes well for more legalization of Mary Jane going forward.

VXX ($18.35)

 Definitely a buyer of the VIX, here, at $18.35, 1/4 of full position

VIX will spike if the Democrats win in Georgia today. The market will likely rise and VIX sink if the Republicans win today.

Either way, I think that January brings a lot of uncertainty and I like my chances with the VIX.
